The summers and monsoons arrive; and with this season comes the nasty mosquitoes back into our lives. And in comes the danger of diseases like, malaria, dengue. We all want to keep these little blood-sucking monsters, mosquitoes, away from our kids and ourselves.
With the weather being pleasant in the evenings, we do not want to think twice before taking our kids to the parks.
Listed below are some measures if you want to keep these blood-sucking monsters away:
Make your kids wear full sleeves clothes and pyjamas. Do not make them wear dark clothes in the evening or when going out, as it attracts more mosquitoes, especially black clothes.
Use natural mosquito repellents, like the ones that have citronella oil, the one by Fab India and by Forest Essentials is amazing. Simply rub it on the whole body. It is coconut oil based and has no harsh chemicals. Stay away from the ones that are being marketed by many brands, read their ingredients properly, as they cause more harm than benefits.
Plant mosquito repellents plants and shrubs in your house like citronella, lemon grass, and Krishna Tulsi.
Close the doors and windows in the evening or use the mesh or mosquito nets to keep the mosquitoes out of the house.
No Stagnant Water
Take care that there is no stagnant water being collected in or surrounding your house, to keep away the mosquitoes from breeding. In case you notice some stagnant water in or around your house, like a little puddle, add some coffee to it, as it helps in killing the mosquito larvae.
You can also use a mixture of eucalyptus and lemon oil to repel the mosquitoes. Simply make a mixture of these oils and then spray a drop in the corners of the rooms in your house.
You can hunt down mosquitoes using Electric Mosquito bats, which are very easily available these days. All you have to do is hunt down the mosquitoes :).
In case of a mosquito bite, rub a little coconut oil on the skin, to get some relief from itching.
You can also rub coconut oil before going out, it also acts as a mosquito repellent and helps in keeping the mosquitoes at bay.
You can also use Neem oil. Replace the vaporiser in the mosquito repellent machines with Neem oil, it is natural and a safe option. You can google about the same, there are lots of videos on YouTube about the same.
